1932 Winter Olympic Games
Lake Placid, United States
The third Winter Olympics was the first to be held outside Europe. It was attended by 17 nations, eight down on the 1928 celebration, with only 274 men and just 32 women competing. The host nation finished at the top of the medal table for the first time in Winter Olympic history, Norway having led the way at the two previous Games in France and Switzerland.
