O'brioen wins eighth 1,000 guineas

Bow Echo and True Love were victorious in British horse racing's first classics of the year, in the 2,000 and 1,000 Guineas respectively at Newmarket, England.
True Love was Irish trainer Aidan O'Brien's eighth winner in the fillies' race, ridden by jockey Wayne Lordan, for whom it was a third win in the event. Evolutionist was second and Venetian Lace third.
In the colts' eqivalent, another Irish jockey, 20-year-old Billy Loughnane rode Bow Echo to victory. It weas Loughnane's first Classic win. Gstaad was second and Distant Storm third.
