Horse racing - Moore pips Dettori
Posted on
Ryan Moore rode Circus Maximus to victory in the Queen Anne Stakes, the first Group 1 race of the 2020 Royal Ascot meeting, in a driving finish with old rival Frankie Dettori.
The Aidan O'Brien four-year-old, the 4-1 favourite, collared long-time leader Marie's Diamond with two furlongs to go of the mile but was immediately challenged by Dettori's mount, Terebellum, and it appeared that the Ascot specialist jockey would power to yet another win but Moore summoned a response from Circus Maximus and they just got up close to the post, officially by a Head.
