Ireland's Flooring Porter, ridden by David Mullins for trainer Gavin Cromwell, claimed the most prestigious long-distance hurdle race in British horse racing, the three-mile Stayers' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. Sire du Berlais was second and Paisley Park third.
There was another big race win for Irish jockey Rachael Blackmore on the Willie Mullins-trained Allaho in the Festival Trophy Chase and Chantry House won the other Grade 1 event of the day, the Golden Miller Novices' Chase, for rainer Nicky Henderson and rider Nico de Boinville.
