Hideki Matsuyama gave Japan its first male winner of one of golf's major championships when h triumphed in The Masters by one stroke at Augusta National in Georgia, USA. 

American debutant Will Zalatoris was second with two other hom golfers, Jordan Spieth and Xander Schauffele, tied in third a couple of shots further back.
