Mawj claimed horse racing's 1,000 Guineas in Newmarket, England which was a Classic win for Irish jockey Oisin Murphy after his return from a 14-month ban.
The Saeed bin Suroor-trained filly beat the favourite, Tahiyra, ridden by Chris Hayes, with Matilda Picotte third. It was English-based Bin Suroor first classic win since the 2009 St Leger.
