Sweden's Armand Duplantis set a new Men's Pole Vault world record of 6.25m after winning gold at Stade de France in Paris.
The 24-year-old had secured successive Olympic titles by clearing six metres, set an Olympic record of 6.10m with his next attempt and then improved his world best of 6.24m, set in April, at his third and final attempt. Duplantis has now broken the record on nine occasions.
Elsewhere on day 10, Great Britain won Gold in the Women's Team Sprint, the first event of the Games at the Velodrome, Germany won the Mixed Team Triathlon Relay in a close three-way finish with silver medallists USA and bronze winners Britain.
