Horse Racing - Dubai World Cup
The most valuable horse race in the world, the Dubai World Cup has been held each March in the United Arab Emirates city over a distance of 2km (one-and-a-quarter miles) on a synthetic surface since 1996. It has been staged at the Meydan track since 2010. The event is contested by four-year-old horses and over (northern hemisphere) and three-year-olds and over (southern hemisphere) and boasts a first prize of over $10million. The 2020 event was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
