Golf - New Orleans Classic
This is one of the traditional events on the PGA Tour. It is played each April at the TPC Louisiana course in New Orleans, USA. From 1938-62 it was held at New Orleans City Park. From 1963 until 1988 the event was staged at Lakewood Country Club before moving to English Turn from 1989–2004. In 2005, the TPC Louisiana was the venue for the first time and has been the stage ever since apart from 2006 when, due to damage caused by Hurricane Katrina, English Turn deputised.
In 2017 the tournament became a team event, with 80 teams of two, played under a stroke play foursome format in the first and third rounds and a fourball system for the second and fourth rounds.
