Cricket - Quaid-e-Azam Trophy
Pakistan's first-class championship is named after the founder of the nation, Mohammad Ali Jinnah (aka Quaid-e-Azam - "Great Leader") and was insituted when Pakistan became a Test Match-playing country. The trophy has been contested by regional teams, departments and commercially-backed sides. The current format sees 14 regions divided into two groups of seven, with the top four in each section progressing to the "super league", with the remaining six playing in the plate league. The top two in the super league take part in a final to decide the champions.
Karachi has provided more than one team in several seasons under various guises - Whites, Blues, B, C, Urban - all come from the same regional association. It's a similar scenario for Lahore.
