Australian Lucas Herbert won golf's Irish Open at Mount Juliet by three shots from Rikard Karlberg of Sweden to claim his second European Tour victory.

Later, fellow Herbert's fellow Aussie Cam Davis won the Detroit Classic in Michigan, USA.

Irish-trained St Mark's Basilica won horse racing's Eclipse Stakes at Sandown Park, London.

It was a record-equalling sixth victory in the race for trainer Aidan O'Brien.
