Hobart Hurricanes won their maiden Big Bash League cricket title with victory over Sydney Thunder by seven wickets in Hobart, Australia.
Mitchell Owen hit a 39-ball century, the joint-fastest in BBL history, as the Hurricanes reached their target of 183 with 30 balls to spare.

Italy's world No.1 Jannik Sinner secured back-to-back Men's Australian Open tennis titles with a 6-3 7-6 (7-4) 6-3 victory over Alexander Zverev of Germany in Melbourne.
Sinner, who also won the 2024 French Open, is the first Italian to win three Grand Slam titles while Zverev became the seventh man in the Open era to lose his first three Grand Slam finals, having also been defeated at the 2020 US Open and 2024 French Open.
