Morikawa triumphs at Sandwich
Posted on
American Collin Morikawa won golf's Open Championship at Royal St George's, Sandwich, England on his debut in the historic event carding a 15-under-par tally across his four rounds. Fellow American Jordan Spieth finished two strokes behind in second with Spain's Jon Rahm and Louis Oosthuizen of South Africa in joint-third another two shots back.
The 24-year-old Morikawa, who won his first major on his PGA Championship debut last year, is the first Open debutant to win since Ben Curtis did so on the same course in 2003.
