  1. At the Paris Olympics, there was a shock in the Men's 1500m as American Cole Hooker was victorious with World champion Josh Kerr of Great Britain second and defending Olympic champion Jacob Ingebrigtsen fourth at Stade de France 
    American Gabby Thomas won the Women's 200m with 100m winner Julien Alfred having to settle for Silver, Winfred Yavi of Bahrain claimed Women's 3000m Steeplechase Gold.
    Elsewhere on day 11, Australian teenager Arisa Trew won thr Women's Park Skateboarding title, Netherlands won the Men's Team Sprint Cycling and China continued to dominate in Diving with a one-two in the Women's 10m Platform event through Quan Hongchan and Chen Yuxi.

  2. Sweden's Armand Duplantis set a new Men's Pole Vault world record of 6.25m after winning gold at Stade de France in Paris.
    The 24-year-old had secured successive Olympic titles by clearing six metres, set an Olympic record of 6.10m with his next attempt and then improved his world best of 6.24m, set in April, at his third and final attempt. Duplantis has now broken the record on nine occasions.
    Elsewhere on day 10, Great Britain won Gold in the Women's Team Sprint, the first event of the Games at the Velodrome, Germany won the Mixed Team Triathlon Relay in a close three-way finish with silver medallists USA and bronze winners Britain.
