American Noah Lyles came from last to first to win the Men's Olympic 100m Final by five-thousandths of a second from Jamaica's Kishane Thompson at Stade de France in a personal best 9.79 seconds.
Thompson was awarded the same time, but had to settle for silver by the finest of margins. USA's former world champion Fred Kerley took bronze in 9.81 seconds.
Elsewhere on day nine, hosts France broke their record for medals at a single Games with a 44th, a bronze in the Men's foil fencing team finals, and Serbia's Novak Djokovic beat Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz to secure the Men's Singles tennis title at Roland-Garros and complete a career 'Golden Slam', after his record 24 majors.
