Tennis - ATP Shanghai Masters
An October stop on the ATP Masters Series schedule, the Shanghai Masters is played on hard courts at the Qizhong Forest Sports City Arena in China's most populous city. It took over the place on the tour of the Madrid Masters, after the Spanish event was moved to May, with the Hamburg Masters event being dropped.
Between 2005 and 2008 the venue hosted the ATP Masters Cup, re-named the ATP World Tour Finals in 2009.
It was not staged between 2000 and 2002 due to travel restrictions to China duringthe Covid-19 pandemic.
