Tennis - WTA Auckland Classic
An international series (tier 3) tournament, it is the only WTA tournament held in New Zealand. Traditionally it is staged on hard courts in the build-up weeks to the Australian Open at the ASB Tennis Centre in Auckland, in the heart of the Kiwi summer.
The event was not staged in 2021 and 2022 due to travel restrictions imposed by the New Zealand government in relation to the Covid-19 pandemic.
