Tennis - WTA Internazionali d'Italia
Held at the famous Foro Italico in Rome each May (apart from 1930-33 when it was staged in Milan), the Internazionali d'Italia - commonly known as the Italian Open - is rated as the key clay court event in the build-up to Roland Garros. It is rated as one of the WTA's Premier 5 tournaments. Since 2011 it has run concurrently with the men's event (more readlily known as the Rome Masters).
