Spain added Olympic Men's Football Gold to the European Championship they won last month, edging out France 5-3 after extra time in an incredible final at Parc des Princes in Paris.
Elsewhere on day 14, Algerian boxer Imane Khelif put aside the controversy over her gender eligibility to win the Women's 66kg category; Ami of Japan won the inaugural Olympic B-Girls Breaking competition; Belgian Nafi Thiam won the Women's Heptathlon for the third Games in a row; Netherlands won the Women's Hockey to become the first nation to win both male and female titles in that sport at the same Olympics; athlete Marileidy Paulino became the first woman from the Dominican Republic to win an Olympic Gold medal after coming first in the 400m, USA won the Women's sprint relay and Canada were surprise winners of the Men's 4 x 100m.
