Stewart Cink claimed his seventh PGA Tour tournament win, but his first since 2009, with a two-shot victory from fellow American Harry Higgs at the California Open in Napa.

Cink's last win came at the 2009 Open Championship - 4,074 days earlier.

Elsewhere, South African George Coetzee claimed his fifth European Tour victory with a two-shot win at the Portugal Masters in Vilamoura.

Austria's Dominic Thiem clinched his first Grand Slam title, coming from two sets down to beat German Alexander Zverev in the US Open final at Flushing Meadows in New York.

Thiem won 2-6 4-6 6-4 6-3 7-6 (8-6).
